Understanding the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and responsibilities as a plant operator
Understanding the manufacturer's handbook for the Lorry Loader
Locating and identifying major components of the machine and explaining their function
Locating and identifying key controls and explaining their function
Conducting all pre-operational and running checks in accordance with manufacturer's and legislative requirements
Configuring the vehicle and loader crane ready for travel
Configuring the Lorry Loader for travel and manouvring it safely across varying terrain, in both open and confined areas
Conducting all necessary safety checks at the work area
Manoeuvring the Lorry Loader to the work area and correctly configuring the machine in readiness to carry out excavation
Deploying stabilisers correctly according to stated specifications
Complying with requirements for Rated Capacity Indicators or Load Moment Indicators
Identifying weights and cantres of gravity of loads to be used
Carrying out lifting operations using the full capabilities of the loader crane
Positioning loads accurately at designated locations including onto and from the vehicle
Fitting and removing attachements
Carrying out all end of work and shut down procedures
This course can be delivered at our venue near Portsmouth or at your venue if you have the required space and equipment.
